About Us
STEMxPolicy aims to bridge the knowledge translation gap between Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) fields and policymakers. Our goal is to educate STEM students on how STEM policy is created, empower them to get involved with policymaking, and expose them to new career paths. In short, we hope to help students see the intersection of STEM and policy. The x in our name signifies the intersection of STEM and policy and our efforts to bridge the gap.
Three Pillars
ENGAGE
Connect with students and form connections with community partners, provincial organizations and federal organizations.
EDUCATE
Students develop a strong understanding of science policy including but not limited to how policy is created, the long-term impact of policy, ethical & inclusive policy, current policy "hot topics, and how they can get involved in policymaking.
EMPOWER
Students will feel comfortable discussing policies, creating their own policies, and getting involved with policymaking.
